The year is 2142, and the dawn of a new Ice age has thrown the world into a panic. The soil not covered by ice can only feed a fraction of the Earth’s population. The maths is simple and brutal: some will live, most will die.

In Battlefield 2142, players choose to fight for one of two military superpowers - the European Union or the newly formed Pan Asian Coalition - in an epic battle for survival. What is the only way to win? Fight with your own style!

Battlefield 2142 was published 19.10.2006. Now, EA Finland will throw a challenge to all mercenaries out there - you are not playing for T-shirts or bottle openers anymore, but for a real jackpot.

”Battlefield 2142 Whoop Ass Challenge”, which is organized by Electronic Arts Finland together with Assembly Organizing, has been launched! Be part of this competition as the best fighting team of Battlefield 2142 will get a whopping 10 000 euro paycheck!  Other runner ups will receive product prizes from Creative and EA.

General Information

The first part of the tournament is online qualification, which will be played on February through March 2007. The finals will be held in Assembly Winter 2007 event in Tampere, Finland (27.-29.4.2007 FRI-SUN). The competition is open to everyone (regardles of nationality or residence), but you have to pay your own trip to Finland if you happen to get to the finals. The tournament will be played 8vs8 conquest, where teams can nominate five additional players. So max team size is 13 people. The tournament servers are unranked, provided by Codepoli Oy.

Also the three best teams from online qualifications, that do not get to the finals, will get product prizes from Creative & EA.
