Rules for Coolputer's competitions: Fastest PC and Coolest case

Coolest case

Coolputer logoDo you have an unusual, modified, strange or otherwise original computer case? If the answer is yes, this is the competition for you!

The Coolest case of Assembly '06 will be selected by Coolputer. Originality and manual labor will be appreciated over prefabricated cases.

Only your imagination sets the limit of what can be considered a computer case – the only requirement is that there is a working computer inside.

Instructions

Entering could not be easier: simply visit us at Coolputer's booth on the "alakatsomotaso" between Thursday, 18:00 and Saturday, 12:00 and give us the coordinates of your computer place (for example, "C12/38").

We will visit you on Saturday between 12:00 and 18:00 to check out and photograph your case.

Prizes

Prizes are paid as hardware.

1st place: 400 euros
2nd place: 200 euros
3rd place: 100 euros

Rules

  • The winners will be selected by the staff of Coolputer.
  • In order to enter the competition, the participant must give Coolputer all the rights to all the photographs used in the competition.
  • Participants must be inside the Assembly area.
  • Entries & PCs sponsored by groups/companies are not accepted.
  • Coolputer reserves the right to disqualify a participant due to (but not limited to) attempted cheating or disturbing.
  • Coolputer assumes no liability for any damage to your equipment.
  • The competition starts Thursday 3.8.2006 at 18:00 and ends Saturday 6.8.2006 at 12:00.
  • Coolputer reserves the right to change the competition rules and prizes without notice.
  • The winners will be contacted personally by the Coolputer staff.
  • If Coolputer is unable to contact a winner before Sunday 6.8.2006 12:00, the participant with the next coolest case will be selected.
  • Allow 1-6 weeks for the delivery of the prizes.
  • The staff of Coolputer or their close relatives may not participate in the competition.
  • The staff of ASSEMBLY, ASSEMBLY sponsors or their close relatives may not participate in the competition.

Instructions

Please read the following instructions carefully BEFORE entering the competition.

  • If you don't already have 3DMark06 Build 1.0.2 installed on your computer, you can download it here.
  • Make sure you are using Futuremark approved WHQL display card drivers. A list of approved drivers can be found here.
  • Run 3DMark06's benchmark with the default settings, which are selected when you start the program. Click on the Run 3DMark button and enjoy the show.
  • After the test is completed, your 3DMark score will be displayed. Click on the Online ResultBrowser button and 3DMark06 will contact Futuremark's website and submit your result to the benchmark database.
  • If you have used Futuremark's Online ResultBrowser before and you already have an account in ORB, you can log in with your email address and password (you may not need to do even this if you have used ORB before on the same computer). If this is the first time you submit results from Futuremark's benchmark, the login page offers you an option to create a new account. Enter the required information on the next page and please make sure you enter a valid email address.
  • On ORB's Project Details or Project Manager page, change the name of your project to: Fastest PC-ASM06 XXX/YY where XXX/YY are the coordinates of your computer place (for example "C12/38"). We need the coordinates to find you in case you win.
  • Next, publish your project. Click on the "Published" checkbox on Project Details or Project Manager page.
  • After any changes you have made in Project Details or Project Manager, remember to click on the Update button. See the Project Manager Help and Publish FAQ pages for more information about Project manager and publishing projects.
  • Make sure that your account information has a valid email address and your name. You can do this with Profile Manager, where you can update and edit your information.

Prizes

Prizes are paid as hardware.

Rules

  • Only projects submitted according the to instructions above qualify for the competition. No exceptions will be made.
  • If a single person enters more than one project into the competition, the highest 3DMark score will be used.
  • Participants must be inside the Assembly area.
  • Only individuals may participate in the competition. Entries by groups and/or companies will not be accepted. Entries & PCs sponsored by groups/companies are not accepted.
  • Attempts by multiple persons to participate in the competition with the same or nearly the same computer configuration, or with the same computer components, will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Any result may be checked by the Coolputer staff. On request, the participant must be able to reproduce the same result within a 5% error margin.
  • Coolputer reserves the right to disqualify a participant due to (but not limited to) attempted cheating or disturbing.
  • Coolputer or Futuremark do not encourage running the computer over the limits specified by the manufacturer. Coolputer nor Futuremark assumes no liability for any damage to your equipment.
  • Coolputer or Futuremark assume no liability if a participant is not able to enter the competition due to (but not limited to) problems with internet connections or Futuremark's web services.
  • The competition starts Thursday 3.8.2006 at 12:00 and ends Saturday 6.8.2006 at 18:00. Only projects submitted to Futuremark's database within this timeframe will quality for the competition.
  • The winner of the competition will be the participant who has the highest 3DMark score on Saturday 6.8.2006 at 18:00. Should the competition end before the announced time, the winners will be selected according to the situation at that time.
  • Coolputer reserves the right to change the competition rules and prizes without notice.
  • The winners will be contacted personally by the Coolputer staff. If Coolputer is unable to contact a winner before Sunday 6.8.2006 12:00, the participant with the next highest score will be selected.
  • Allow 1-6 weeks for the delivery of the prizes.
  • The staff of Coolputer or their close relatives may not participate in the competition.
  • The staff of Futuremark or their close relatives may not participate in the competition.
  • The staff of ASSEMBLY, ASSEMBLY sponsors or their close relatives may not participate in the competition.
