Red Faction tournament
The Red Faction tournament is organized by Jouni Jokela. ASSEMBLY Organizing takes no responsibility over the competition.
Red Faction 1 was released during last quarter of 2001 for PC and Playstation 2.
Red Faction's Geo Mod engine was built from scratch to support geometry deformation and effectively give a rocket launcher the power to blast holes in walls and buildings. But this isn't just a pretty graphical effect. The physics engine and AI react in realtime to environmental changes, so guard towers with blown-out support struts will fall and topple naturally, and an enemy whose cover just vanished in a hail of rocket fire will run in search of a new haven. This game must be experienced.
Red Faction tournament in Assembly 06.
Tournament will be held over nights between Friday and Saturday and between Saturday and Sunday. Match types are Deathmatch (up to 32 players), Team death match (up to 16 teams) and Capture The Flag (up to 32 teams). All team match forms will start with equal numbers in each team so if team has more players than other, they can call which players will play in each match. If player has earned a "red card", he can't participate in the following match.
How to to participate.
You can participate via various ways, but it will be binding on moment you sing in at tournament spot. Rules of tournament
These are still subject to change and to be made more accurate.
If player gets a red card in individual competition, he will be disqualified. In team games, he may not participate in the next match. Please notice that this tournament is about having fun and getting to know one great PC game.
1) Cheating and Glitch abusing = Instant Disqualification of player/team
Cheating and Glitch abusing is strictly forbidden in every form and being caught doing so will cause disqualification and already won matches to be lost (assuming you have been cheating during entire tournament)
2) On purpose made Team mate killing, harming and blocking.
On purpose made team mate killing, harming and blocking is not tolerated nor accepted. First time caught will cause warning to the player, second will cause score to be reset and last will earn you "red card" so your team has one man less vs opponents.
3) Camping, corner/sniping spot sitting.
Camping or sniper spot sitting for extensive long periods of time or while you should not be doing it (ie. enemy has stolen your flag) is not tolerated nor accepted. Exception is guarding strategic spot at enemy base. This also includes the raildriver tunnel sitting. Being caught doing this will cause warning to be given on first time, score reset on second and "red card" on third.
4) Whining, Complaning and unproofable accusations.
This tournament is about having fun and getting to know one great game. All unnecessary whining, complaining etc. is not tolerated at all. First time will cause notice, second will give warning and third time will give you a "red card".
5) General actions of collective stupidy.
Tunnel digging without purpose, preventing weapons to be reached, camping to get multiple times the same weapon/ammo etc. stupid things. These are not tolerated and depending on type and times repeated will cause from warning to red card.
6) Distracting other teams while playing.
On purpose made distraction of other teams while they are playing is strictly forbidden. Teams or team members found to be distracting others (teams or players) will get warning on first time and second will cause "red card" or individual player or whole team, or team disqualification from tournament.
7) Hard, illegal characters containing or racist nick.
Your player nick must be clear and easy to read and may not contain illegal characters or racist comments in it. Also it must be same with what you sing in into tournament. This rule is checked when singing to tournament at partyplace.
8) Whining and complaining for admin/referees about their calls.
Admin or referees may need to do their call in hard place and quickly, therefore complaning and whining about their calls is not tolerated. If you think that admin was wrong you must ask friendly that upon what referee made his call, and ask for a correction. All badmouthing and stupid actions will not be looked. If you got disqualified because of your own actions face it like man.
These rules will be applied in each case individually. However continuous violation in matches can be alone reason for disqualification of player/team.
Any questions comments and suggestions about these rules can be done via IRC channel.
Rules writen by Jouni "FuryThoR" Jokela who will also work as tournament admin.
