MUPE compo - come up with a killer idea!

Rules for the MUPE contest

READ THESE RULES CAREFULLY! BY PARTICIPATING IN THE MUPE CONTEST YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES. IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE YOUR PARTICIPATION WILL BE VOID.

YOU HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD TO PARTICIPATE. PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE 18 MAY ONLY PARTICIPATE WITH THE CONSENT OF THEIR LEGAL GUARDIAN.

Overview of the Contest

The MUPE Compo has got to be the easiest competition at Assembly this year: All you have to do is come up with the winning idea! The prize is a Nokia 3250 Mobile Phone!

Think up some sort of application (game, utility, whatever), and if you want, include use of picture taking and/or bluetooth, then explain the idea to Nokia as well as you can.

You can participate by sending an email to mupeteam<rhymes with 'cat'>sci.fi that includes your name, email address, age (under 18 year-olds the name of the legal guardian who has consented to the participation) and a free description of your idea. All emails must be submitted at the latest on august 3rd 2006 at 21:30.

Nokia's distinguished panel of judges (read "group of MUPE coders") will decide which idea they like the best and which they think they can get put together in 2 days. Then they'll get hard at work to try to have a demo ready by Saturday night.

If yours is the idea chosen to be implemented, and it was the first one to arrive in our mailbox (if there are similar ideas), then you win a brand new Nokia 3250 phone!

You are encouraged to attend the MUPE seminar on Thursday 3.8 at 20.00. That way you'll have a better idea of what's possible with MUPE, and therefore have a better chance of having your idea chosen to be implemented.

Decision on the winner will be reached by Thursday 3rd August at 23:00, and coding will begin. Winner will be notified at this time. Award presentation will take place on Saturday night, before the demonstration of what has been created in two days!
