Rules for Opera Widget World Cup
Opera Software will organize an Opera Widgets compo at Assembly'06. The competition will be organized as part of the Widget World Cup (http://widgets.opera.com/wwc/). All entries will enter into the WWC, and be eligible for the prizes of the WWC. In addition to this, there will be extra prizes for entries from Assembly participants, to be announced shortly.
Participation instructions
- Submit your Widget normally to the WWC at http://widgets.opera.com/wwc/ before Saturday Aug 5th at 24:00 (midnight)
- After this you must personally come by the Opera stand to manually register your Widget and show that you are present at ASM. Do this before the deadline, too.
- Opera representatives present at the party will form a jury and decide a winner among the ASM entries.
- The winner will be announced in the second prize giving ceremony at noon on Sunday Aug 6th.
Rules
- All general Assembly competition rules apply.
- All Widget World Cup rules apply.
- If incorporating other code, the Widget developer must have permission to publish the code.
- The Widget developer gives Opera the permission to publish the Widget.
- The Widget must conform to open standards including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Licensing information must be included in the Widget.

Your widget should:
- be very easy to use
- have a well defined purpose
- comply with standards
- look good!
- have bugs
- waste resources
- have ugly code
PRIZES
There will be three winners and three prizes.
1st place winner will get first pick among the three available prizes, 2nd place winner will get second pick etc.
The prizes are:
- Nintendo DS Lite + Opera (only Japanese edition currently available)
- Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
- Nokia N90 mobile phone
