Mysterious Ways

Mysterious Ways is a six-person, couple of years old band, formed bystudents in Riihimäki. Band plays mostly their own music, which can be described best as American rock flavoured with blues elements. MysteriousW ays plays also covers, including such songwriters as Gershwin and Hendrix. Band has played in a lot of different student happenings; from anniversary galas to May Day parties.The icon and frontperson of Mysterios Ways is Maija Varis, whose soulful and interpreting singing gets even the stiffest knees soft. Band's leader and lead guitarist is Arttu "the Ace" Hiltunen, who has - dispite hisy oung age - played almost everything from folk to latin music to metal. Juhana Soini, Nurmo's gift to music listeners, plays guitar with Metallica on the other hand and Janis Joplin on the other. Pirkka "Cantor" Maksimainen is a hard-working musician and has made himself known in bandslike Dunces and Karjalan Kannas. The stone foundation of the rhythm section are Opain's drummer Joonas Pyhtilä and Mysterious Ways' innerspirit, bass player Juho Tahvanainen.
