General rules

Published: 2006-07-26 01:15

These rules apply to the Realtime and Sound & vision competition categories. If you are interested in sports and gaming events, check the Gaming & sports section. Information about sponsored and official events is available in the Sponsored & unofficial section. Be sure to read the compo category and compo specific rules as well!

  • The author of the entry or his/her representative must be present at the party place to be eligible to participate and to receive any prizes the entry might win.
  • All competition entries must be uploaded to the competition management system before the given deadline. You need to activate your user account to Assembly Summer 2007 in order to be able to submit an entry.
  • Updates to the entries are allowed until one hour before the jury starts. This is the final deadline for the entries to be shown on the bigscreen. No updates are accepted after this point.
  • All the material participating in a competition must be previously unreleased! This means that the material in the demo (e.g. graphics, music) has not been used in any previously released production. You may however include a picture or a tune competing in the Sound & Vision track in your demo. Also, you can include some previously released components in your work if they don't constitute the main portion of the work. For example you can use previously released fonts and samples in creating your work if you have permission to use them.
  • You must own or have permission for all the material present in your production. In case of a copyright infringement problem it is your duty to prove that you have the necessary rights to use the material in your entry. Read the copyright FAQ.
  • You must accept the competition contract when you upload your entry to the competition management system. This contract governs the rights and responsibilities of you and the event organizers.
  • Organizers reserve the right to disqualify a production containing explicit sexual, racist or disturbing material, or breaking any rule applicable to the particular competition category.
  • Organizers reserve the right to change any and all prizes and prizing principles in any competition. This rule mainly applies to competitions where the quality of the productions is very poor or there are too few entries to justify the full prize amount and thus are not worth the sum that the prize categories state.
  • Organizers reserve the right to augment or modify the competition rules if deemed necessary. This rule mainly applies to possible vagueness or contradictions in the rules.
