ASSEMBLY expanded to two events

ASSEMBLY has been organized annually since 1992. From the start our goal has been to organize a really cool party and have a great time while doing it. We have clearly succeeded as in year 2006 ASSEMBLY celebrated its 15th party with ASSEMBLY '06.

At the same time ASSEMBLY has grown to a full blown festival - much more than just a LAN party. We have seminars, concerts, raves, AssemblyTV, robot wars and much, much more. This has also meant that the party schedule has been increasingly tight with a number of events taking place at the same time. It is often impossible to add any new program unless we remove something else first.

Gaming, either as a hobby or for prizes, has also become an increasingly popular activity at ASSEMBLY. Due to the pressures with ASSEMBLY's schedule, we have not been able to fully realize all our plans for gaming program.

After considering the needs of the party participants, the growing importance of gaming, the already stuffed schedule of ASSEMBLY and the organizers' desire to do something even more challenging (hey, no challenge - no fun! =)), we have decided to take the plunge and launch a new, annual ASSEMBLY party dedicated for gaming: ASSEMBLY Winter.

ASSEMBLY expanded to two events in year 2007

ASSEMBLY expanded to two annual events in year 2007:

• ASSEMBLY Winter is a event dedicated to hobby and pro gaming.
  
• ASSEMBLY Summer is "ASSEMBLY as we all know it" and continues on with the same traditions as before

ASSEMBLY Winter will be held annually in the end of February, however, the first year is an exception, and the ASSEMBLY Winter '07, the first ASSEMBLY Winter,  was held from 27th to 29th of April 2007 at Pirkkahalli, Tampere, Finland. ASSEMBLY Winter is dedicated purely to gaming: on PCs and on video game consoles, for hobby and pro gamers. Read more on ASSEMBLY Winter.

ASSEMBLY Summer continues on the traditions of what ASSEMBLY has always been: a festival encompassing demoscene, gaming, digital culture and arts, social gathering and everything the party participants shape it to be. ASSEMBLY twice a year - twice the fun!

From year 2007 onwards ASSEMBLY will take place twice the year and we'll do our utmost to make sure that you'll have twice the fun. If you are into gaming, be it just to take on your friends in Singstar or to be the best Warcraft III player in Finland, you'll find great time at ASSEMBLY Winter - as well as ASSEMBLY Summer! Although ASSEMBLY Winter is single-mindedly just a gaming event, ASSEMBLY Summer also has a lot of gaming program and tournaments.
