World record attempt in overclocking
Overclocking is the computer industry’s answer to dragracing. There is no direct practical use for it, it’s dangerous and there’s always something that goes wrong. But when everything works it is fast, really fast!
People that overclock computers are using the fastest computer components you can find. To reach the really high speeds you need different modifications and smart solutions to push the components to their limits. In the past years liquid nitrogen has been more frequently used to cool the equipment. The fact is that with liquid nitrogen it’s possible to reach temperatures as low as -195C and in best case reach a new world record.
The present world record holder in 3D-Mark 06 Marcus “Kinc” Hultin will together with Petri “SF3D” Korhonen try to beat the world records in 3DMark Vantage live in ASUS booth at Assembly. Don’t forget to pass by– world record can be broken at any time! It is worth mentioning, that Kinc broke the world record at Assembly last year as well.

Kinc and SF3D will use the following equipment:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 - Motherboard: ASUS Striker II Extreme R.O.G – Graphics card: 3 pieces ASUS ENGTX280 Tri-SLI - Monitor: ASUS MK241H 24” - Memory: Corsair Dominator DDR3 1800MHz - Measuring device: Fluke thermometer and multimeter – Cooling medium: Liquid nitrogen - Cooling: CNC-made cooler in massive copper for cooling of all components in the system with liquid nitrogen
