Der Tante Renate

It’s been a while since Der Tante Renate rose to popularity in the electro/indie culture both in Germany and abroad. If you think electro and independent music don’t go together, think again. Check out one of his shows and you’ll experience firsthand how these styles can be easily combined to form a highly energetic hybrid. He takes the best of both influences and arranges them into blistering songs with hook lines you’ll find difficult to forget.  With very few vocals, his music is flexible - making it suitable for dance floors of all sizes. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that Der Tante Renate’s music appeals to a broad spectrum of music fans.

Having played at a number of major festivals in 2006 and 2007, (Fusion, Juicy Beats, Kontrollverluste Festival, Eurosonic …) he’s bound to have added to his ever growing number of admirers. During his live shows, the engineer of media technology sticks predominately with software synthesisers and game controllers. However, sometimes his electric guitar accompanies him on stage and when it does he drives himself (and the crowd) in to quite a frenzy. In 2007 he played more than 100 shows in GER/CH/AUT/NL.
