Live2011.com Grand Prix
Turku, the European Capital of Culture for 2011, has initiated the world's largest media art and new media competition. The aim of the competition is to highlight and support the growing field of digital media, and to emphasise the significance of social media in interacting with others and forming a sense of community.
With a special partnership with Assembly Summer 2009 - 2011, Live2011.com Grand prix will feature a special "event award" that will be put to the Assembly demoscene competition prize pool.
Basically this means, that the winner of the Assembly Demo competition will include the 3000 euros event award. Additionally, the winning demo will qualify directly to the Grand Prix finals in Open or Digital Turku 2011 categories (Open category will be the default, but if the entry will abide by the Digital Turku 2011 rules, it will be part of that category). The Open category has a prize pool of 20.000 euros and Digital Turku 2011 category goes for 30.000 euros. Total prizes given out in the Grand Prix will be a whopping 140.000 euros!
