Qt runs everywhere!

Nokia prodly provides special prizes for finalists in Gamedev, Demo or Real Wild-compos. If you end up in the Big Screen and use Qt-framework, you are entitled to these extra prices.

The winner is selected together with the scene (ie do well in the competition voted by Assembly participants), but there also be a jury set by Nokia. However, the scene has more power, 75 %, where as the Nokia jury's view is limited to effect 25 % of the final decision.

The Nokia jury looks especially mobility and visionary in the entries. For example, the use of Qt Mobility – and thus, integration to the mobile platform (e.g. N900, 5800) – is an important criteria.

The winning crew of Qt this competitions will enjoy a trip to Doublin, to MeeGo 2010 summit to learn the new trends of the MeeGo-platform. Naturally, the trip is sponsored by Nokia. Also, all participants of demo, Game Dev or Real Wild competitions are invited to join the N900 is you passport-sauna VIP event at Assembly on Friday evening.

Qt Runs Everywhere Official Rules and Regulations

ELIGIBILITY

Qt Runs Everywhere (hereinafter referred to as “the Contest”), brought to you by The Nokia Corporation, Espoo, Finland, (hereinafter referred to as the “Sponsor”) will be governed by these rules (the “Official Rules”). The Contest is open to participants/contestants (hereinafter referred to as “Participants”) participating in the Assembly Demo, Real Wild and Gamedev compos. The Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents reserve the right at any time to verify that any and all Participants meet the eligibility requirements in any manner deemed appropriate. The employees and directors of the Sponsor and/or its licensees, advertising, promotion or production agencies and provider companies (and their immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, siblings) and individuals residing in their same household) are not eligible to participate. By participating, Participants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest.

PROGRAM PERIOD

The Contest begins on the date of release and ends when the Assembly demos are due. (hereinafter referred to as the “Program Period”). Please refer http://assembly.org/ for the schedules of Assembly.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

You can participate in this contest by delivering a Real Wild, Gamedev or Demo entry to the Assembly 2010 contest using the Qt-framework.

PRIZES

The winner/winners of the Contest will receive a Nokia Sponsored trip to MeeGo 2010 summit (the “Prize”). Taxes, if any, related to the Prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The Prizes cannot be assigned, transferred, redeemed for cash, or substituted except by the Sponsor, who may, at its sole discretion, substitute any Prize with one of comparable value if the advertised Prize becomes unavailable for any reason.

DETERMINATION OF THE WINNER

The winner/winners of the Contest will be determined by both the popular vote and a Nokia jury vote. The popular vote is given weight of 75 % and is determined the by position in the Assembly 2010 competitions, all categorizes considered equal. The Nokia jury will have 25 % weight and will rank the elightable entries, all categories equal. The Nokia jury will consider the innovativeness and mobility of the application. In case of a tie, the winner is selected using a draw. Winners will be notified by mail, email, or telephone by 10.9.2010 to the address and/or phone number provided by winner upon registration as a Participant in the Contest. An email notifying the winner of his/her Prize will include a request for his/her preferred mailing address. The winner must respond with his/her preferred mailing address by 15.9.2010 failing which the winner shall forfeit the Prize. In the event of such forfeiture, the Sponsor shall select another winner based on the selection criteria above or dispose of the Prize in any way it deems fit. The Prize shall be delivered to the winner at the address provided by the winner. Such delivery may be by courier service, postal service or other means as determined solely by the Sponsor. The Sponsor shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) in the delivery of the Prize to the winner.

GENERAL RULES

Participation constitutes consent (a) to comply with these Official Rules and (b) that the Participant release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, including death, loss or damage of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any Prize or participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activities. If a winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, the winner’s Prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

MISCELLANEOUS

These Official Rules are governed by the laws of Finland. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to amend, withdraw or revise these Official Rules and the Prizes at any time without notice and in such event the Sponsor shall not have any liability whatsoever. You acknowledge and agree that no form of cheating will be tolerated. Any persons found cheating, as determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, will immediately be disqualified from the Contest. You acknowledge and agree that you must conduct yourself in a mature and decent manner to other Participants and the Sponsor. You acknowledge and agree that the Sponsor is permitted to automatically disqualify any Participant that is acting in an unreasonable manner (to be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor on a case by case basis). You acknowledge and agree that all disputes in relation to the Contest, including but not limited to scoring, placing, eligibility, cheating, advancement and any other issue related to the Contest shall be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, and that such a decision by the site operators or event officials shall be final and binding.
