What is Robosota?
10 years in Finland has group of people have been building radio-controlled fighting machines to compete with each other. Group has grown slowly and now there is Robosota organization which organizes all fighting robot events in Finland. About four times per year roboteers compete in Robosota events and now the battles are held a fourth time at Assembly.
Rules and weight classes
The winner of a heat is robot which gains three points before opponent or more points inside three minutes time limit. A point is gained by getting the other robot outside of the arena or making it unable to move. Anything from stuck situation to total annihilation is count as ‘unable to move’. Some small fixing is allowed during competition. If both robots are fully functional and have equal points at the end of battle jury will decide the winner or extra minutes is applied.
Robosota has now a new line follower competition. Goal is to make a robot what can follow line and move as fast as possible. Robot with best laptime is the winner.
There are four weight classes: 150 grams, 450 grams, 6kgs and 13,6kgs. Lighter (150 gram and 450 gram) robots fight on 64cm by 64cm square shaped arena and heavier robots fight on larger (4,5m by 5m) arena. Otherwise the rules are quite same for all weight classes. For more detailed information about rules and regulations see our website: http://www.robosota.fi.
Participating registration is done trough Robosota web pages. Rules are Finnish only, sorry.
