Competition contract

General

This contract governs the participation into a competition held at an ASSEMBLY event (organized by ASSEMBLY Organizing). The party participating in a competition at ASSEMBLY, be it an individual or a team of individuals, (later called Competitor) accepts this agreement and its terms and is bound by them when entering an ASSEMBLY competition.

The agreement is valid effective immediately after Competitor has signed up to participate in an ASSEMBLY competition using any official sign up method such as entering the Competitors details to the competition management system operated by ASSEMBLY Organizing.

ASSEMBLY Organizing is the marketing name of the Finnish company Scenera Oy (business identity code: FI 1610659-8). Thus this contract is made between the Competitor and Scenera Oy.

Responsibilities of the Competitor

• The Competitor agrees to comply by the rules set for the competition
• The Competitor affirms that he has the necessary permissions and rights to participate in the Competition and that he is the authorized representative of the Competitor for entering into competitions and for receiving prizes on behalf of the Competitor.
  
• The Competitor agrees not to circumvent the rules of the competition and not to use any tools or methods for unfairly improving his performance (commonly known as "cheating"). Further the Competitor agrees to conduct himself in a sportsman-like behavior.
• The Competitor gives ASSEMBLY Organizing the right to make any recordings of the competition and the Competitor's participation in the competition, and permits ASSEMBLY Organizing to use any such recording or parts thereof, free of charge, in their original or modified form in the marketing, broadcasting, publishing, reselling, retailing or distribution.

Responsibilities of ASSEMBLY Organizing

• ASSEMBLY Organizing agrees to comply and respect the Finnish legislation
• ASSEMBLY Organizing agrees to treat all Competitors fairly
• ASSEMBLY Organizing is responsible for conducting the competitions in a fair manner unless a Force Majeure situation occurs.
  
• ASSEMBLY Organizing agrees to pay the winners of the competitions the prizes announced at the ASSEMBLY WWW-site according to specific competition rules and general rules. Any damages caused during the event will be reduced from the prizes.

Changing of the contract terms

This contract can be altered when the Competitor and ASSEMBLY Organizing both agree on the change of terms. In case ASSEMBLY Organizing wants to change the terms of the contract and the Competitor does not agree to the change, the contract can be unilaterally terminated by ASSEMBLY Organizing after a 30 days notice period.

Validity period of this contract

This contract is valid indefinitely, if it is not terminated.

Termination of this contract

The contract can be mutually terminated without further liabilities. Termination is valid immediately after both parties have agreed to it. After this the rights and liabilities of both parties are void.

The contract can be terminated unilaterally if the other party can be proven to have significantly broken the terms of this contract. In this situation the termination is valid after 30 days notice period, if the situation is not corrected during this time.

Resolving of disputes

The contract is governed by Finnish law. Disputes are primarly solved by negotiation by the parties and ultimately in court of law in Helsinki, Finland.
