The photo competition was all about finding funny photos showing the reason why you should win free tickets to ASSEMBLY Winter 2009. Altogether 30 photos participated and as expected there were plenty of Internet memes such as fat cats, owlz, Yo Dawg Xzibit photos and what more. However, just continuing a meme wasn't enough to win this time.

The three winners are all authentic photos telling a small story why it would be cool to go to ASSEMBLY Winter. Here they are in random order (click on the image for a larger version).

Our negotiations with our sponsors have gone well and we are able to confirm further cash prizes in the Pro competitions! The winners of Pro competitions will receive ALL cash prizes and the 2nd place will receive at least 50% cash prizes. Please see the updated prize table.

The prizes for ASSEMBLY Winter 2009 have been announced. The prize total is €10 000 with the vast majority of prizes going to Professional compos.

Our goal is to reward the Finnish gaming champions with bigger prizes than ever before. For this reason we moved €5 000 worth of prizes to ASSEMBLY Summer 2009 (compared to prizes given out at Winter 2008). This is done to increase the game compo prizes at the Peliliiga finals played at ASSEMBLY Summer 2009.

The ASSEMBLY Winter 2009 competitions have been published! We got a lot of cool competitions including Pro tournaments (e.g. Counter-Strike, WarCraft 3), Amateur tournaments (e.g. Counter-Strike 1.6), Social gaming tournaments (e.g. Guitar Hero: World Tour with both guitars only and full band modes) and naturally classical sports compos (e.g. soccer).

We've also confirmed a big prize pool for the party with over 10 000 euros worth of prizes to be awarded among the best players!
