Grand stand added, changes to computer places
ASSEMBLY Winter 2011 is host to awesome Pro game tournaments. That's why we are adding a large grand stand in front of the stage so that you can watch the action at best seats in the house!
This means that we've removed a few unsold computer places from table row A. No changes are made to your computer places, the table row A is simply a bit shorter to make room for the grand stand. The first computer places in table rows A are now A1/9 & A1/33, A2/9 & A2/33, A3/9 & A3/33 and A4/9 & A4/33 i.e. places 1-8 and 25-32 don't exist anymore.
Please check out the party place map and computer place map for more details.
SteelSeries Challenge: SC2 - Battledetails Operational
After a month of back and forth, the groups are finally completed. There were a number of cancellations, most prominently the Korean contingent of Rainbow and Cella, but there's still very much enough star power left attending to illuminate even the polar night of Helsinki. The latecomers aren't half-bad either, proven by the fact that they include, for example, Liquid`Tyler.
The massive group stage of 64 players worth of bo3 play will be played completely in one day, Friday 11.2., and the playoffs from ro32 onwards on the following Saturday. The ludicrous amount of matches played demands an equally ludicrous set of casters to provide coverage. The caster lineup is currently looking like this:
- Martijn + Maven + TheBeard: GLHF.tv feat. thebeard.tv on-site - English, main stream
- TotalBiscuit: online/on-site - English
- SETT TV: on-site - Finnish
- Millenium TV: on-site - French
- Khaldor: online - German
- itzMorglum(starcraft2tv.pl): online -Polish

World's best eSport athletes at ASM
The gaming events at ASSEMBLY Winter will be huge spectacle for all visitors! Never before has Finland seen a gaming tournament on this level. The players for the tournament are coming from three different continents carrying their nation's flag with pride.
The StarCraft 2 tournament at ASSEMBLY Winter is hands down the best tournament ever in Europe. The players for this tournament are coming from South Korea, Canada, United States, Sweden and Germany to name a few. They are facing Finns and especially Santeri "Naama" Lahtinen who brought the victory home from DreamHack Winter winning Koreans and players by playing left hand. Naama doesn't have to carry out Finland alone, because all the top players from Finland are coming to challenge foreigners on this epic tournament.
On Counter-Strike: Source tournament the TOP-5 Finnish clans are facing each other. Especially the matches between old rivalries CKRAS Gaming and eXelon Gaming are going to be huge. These two teams have faced each others on Assembly finals before and eXelon is the current champion. But CKRAS is well prepared for them.
Team Fortress 2 is going to be huge too. All the major teams from Europe are coming the event to face each others again. Finnish-Swedish team Dignitas with their Finnish captain Rauli "Darn" Savela is trying to lead Dignitas to win this time, but he is facing the though
opponents from Finland. Both Blight Gaming and Power Gaming will try to force Dignitas once again to take runner ups prize and go for the glory themselves.
To spice things up SETT TV will shoutcast all the major matches from the event. SETT TV is bringing their old legend Teemu "wabbit" Hiilinen and with him you will see new faces with young enthuaism.
Make sure you book a computer place to make the most of this year's ASSEMBLY Winter. There will also be spectator passes on sale, so you really have to make sure to book a trip to the snowy Helsinki!

Assembly Amateur tournaments
Assembly Winter '11 Amateur tournaments are here. Prepare yourself for the biggest gaming competitions of the winter 2011.
This year we see competions in two different category, PC and Xbox 360. We play some old classics like Counter-Strike but also some Assembly newcomers like Fifa 2011.
If you want to have some fun or to test your skills before entering Professional competions these are your best bet. Stop just idling on your computer and start competing!
Team Fortress 2 - Teams selected

Counter-Strike: Source participants selected!
Counter-Strike: Source is one of the main pro tournaments in Assembly Winter '11. The time has come to publish the participants of the anticipated tournament. It was very pleasant to see the amount of total applicants and that there were many new teams applying for the tournament.
Total of 7 teams are listed here; the last spot is handed out in two weeks time at the LanTrek Counter-Strike: Source tournament held in Ylöjärvi, Finland. We are also very proud to see that the international CS:S scene has taken interest of the Assembly. This year we have one international team competing from Norway.

SteelSeries Challenge: SC2 - changes in the participant list
A player pool of 64 is bound to have some iterations before the action finally starts. Regretfully the Canadian compLexity duo of
Stalife and
Antimage have announced that they can't make it after all.
Replacing them will be two other very well known players,
Cella and
SarenS, who had their original applications lost en route.
SteelSeries Challenge: SC2- List of participants
The year has changed, which among other things means that the deadline for applying
for the Assembly Winter SteelSeries Challenge has passed. It must be said that the
quality and quantity of the applicants surpassed the wildest expectations of the
organizers. Spanning three continents and featuring a strong contingent from almost
every top-of-the-line team out there, the chosen players will definitely make for an
outstanding tournament.
The only regret that comes with strong applicants are cutting the ones that almost
made it. Many more of those that applied could give the top names a run for their money.
Don't despair if your name isn't listed even though you applied - with a player pool of this
size cancellations are quite probable and you might be called to fight after all.
63 players are listed here; the last spot is handed out in two weeks time at the
LanTrek StarCraft 2 tournament in Ylöjärvi, Finland.
