General

  1. In order to get a working tournament, the clans must show sportsmanship. We expect clans to obey rules, but also to show flexibility and understanding when problems emerge.
  2. The rules can be changed by tournament admins at any time. The changes will be communicated to tournament participants after they will become effective.
  3. Not knowing the tournament rules is never a valid excuse for not following them.
  4. Tier 1 unlocks (listed below) are used troughout the tournament. If both clans agree, match can be played without any unlocks. Tier 1 contains: RDX Demopak, Anti-Personnel Mine, Herzog AR-Shotgun, AED-6 Defibrillator, AE Defuser, IL-14 EMP, V5 EMP Grenade, IPS Shield, SLSB Squad Beacon and FRG-1 Grenade.
  5. Default match date is Thursday 21.00EET.
    • Match of the week will be casted and played on Sunday. Other matches may be casted too.
    • If a clan doesn't want their match to be casted, organizers has to be informed at least one week before.
    • Clans can set a new date if both agree on it and if there's more than 48hrs to the previously set. For example you can't change a default date on the day before.
  6. Limitations
    • Clan name must remain the same as on sign up. If there is a very good reason for a change it will be handled per case basis.
    • The clan lineup must contain at least 5 players originally signed up.
    • Clan lineup cannot be changed during qualifiers after your participation has been confirmed.
    • You must sign up at least one and not more than five spare players on top of your normal lineup. Thus the maximum amount of players is 13. Team manager, who does not participate to gameplay, is not counted against team player limit.
    • Lineup changes may be done only between tournament phases.

Rules for the qualifier

  1. In the qualifier the clans can select their map from the following maps: Belgrade, Cerbere Landing, Fall of Berlin, Minsk, Verdun, Camp Gibraltar, Shubia Taiba, Sidi Power Plant, Suez Canal, Tunis Harbor.
  2. Both clans can select their own map. The opponent should know the map choice as soon as possible and not later than three days before the match.
  3. In an event of a tie the third map will be selected by method of elimination. Each clan's leaders will remove one map from the remaining maps until one remains. If the third map results also in a tie, same map will be continued until the winner is resolved.
  4. If a player is experiencing technical difficulties he can be waited (and game paused) for 10 minutes, after which the game has to be continued.
  5. If you cannot get an official admin to watch the game you must send demos captured with battle recorder and screenshots of the game to an admin.
  6. All players must be signed up. If you have players that aren't signed up the game is forfeited to the opposing clan by default.
  7. Player's nick in-game must be identifiable to the nick at the tournament page.
  8. Accusing the opposing clan of cheating or breaking the rules without evidence results in disqualification of the accusing clan.
  9. If the qualifier is paused because of network or game server failure the game is continued with the following rules:
    • If the game was played under 10 minutes you start the round from the beginning with full tickets.
    • If the game was played over 10 minutes you start the round with 50% of the tickets and with 10 minutes of playtime. The ticket difference at the moment of the failure should be added to the result of the restarted round. Example: Clan A had 87 tickets and Clan B had 99 tickets at the time of the failure, Clan B gets 12 tickets added to the result of the restarted round.
  10. If a player switches sides before the round has ended, the opponent team will be given a forfeit victory on the round, so that the offending team's tickets will be reset and the opponent will be given the rest of the tickets. This rule does not apply to player rejoining the game after disconnection. Screenshot must be taken from this offence, and must be sent to the game administrators after the game.
  11. Clans are allowed to play on their own servers if they meet the following criteria:
    • Demos of all official rounds has to be supplied to tournament organizers.
    • There must be room for admins and casters on the server
    • Clan that fails to supply demos in two days (48hrs), will automatically lose the approriate match.
    • If clans haven't come to a mutual conclusion of the server one day before match date, the match will be played in servers provided by tournament organizers. It can also be played 50%-50% in servers provided by both clans.
  12. If a clan is not ready to start after 20 minutes of scheduled start time, the match is forfeited to the other party. If both parties are not ready to start, it is resulted as 0-0. 13. First map will be selected by the home team, Home teams plays the first round as EU.
  13. Changing players is allowed between but not during rounds.
  14. Both teams should take a screenshot of the final result after every round.

    • Only the team leader can send in-game messages for the game existing players. Other team members can only use team's internal communication.
    • Match starts after both teams have said "live".

Limitations

  1. All software and settings considered cheating are forbidden.
  2. Abusing game or map bugs is forbidden. Please note that you are not allowed to use the pods (Beacon, APC) to get to roofs that are unreachable by foot. Also you're not allowed to place the beacon in a location where it can't be destroyed. In addition any other way to get an unfair advantage using methods that may or may not be commonly known is forbidden and will be handled on a case by case basis.
  3. Altering the game in any way is strictly forbidden.
  4. Using external programs is forbidden. Only exceptions are voice communication software like Ventrilo and Teamspeak.
  5. Spawn blocking is prohibited Breaking any of the above rules can result in forfeit loss or removal from the tournament.

Groups

  1. Clans inside a group will play once against each other clan in the same group.
  2. Clan gets 1 point for winning a map and 1 point for winning in total tickets. Thus clan winning both maps gets 3 points (result: 3-0) or a clan winning one map and in total tickets gets 2 points, while the opponent gets 1 point (result: 2-1).
  3. Clans must play one match every week.
  4. The two best ones of each group will qualify for the next phase.
  5. Admins will admin random matches. Clans can request for an admin to admin the match.

Match conflicts

  1. The match conflict system acts as a court room with game admins acting as judges.
  2. Making unnecessary conflicts can result in forfeit loss or removal from the tournament.
  3. Try to solve the conflict with your opponent by irc/email or similar methods first.
  4. The side that initiates the match conflict must explain the problem in a clear and polite way. Failure to do so will lead to an automatic and immediate loss of the conflict. Links to screenshots and demos should be included right away if relevant
  5. Admins will look at the comments on the conflict page when judging a case. Comments elsewhere will be taken into consideration.
  6. It is allowed to contact the admin handling the conflict in private to talk about your case, but trying to influence the admin's decision will lead to automatic loss of the case.
  7. Name calling, insults, racism and any other kind of bad behavior can lead to automatic loss of the conflict.
  8. Match conflicts will be judged by the standard rules and rules agreed upon in the challenge form, but in some cases admins can bend the rules, when all parties agree so.
  9. If you suspect another clan of cheating then you must have evidence and you must present it immediately. Conflicts based on alleged cheating but without clear evidence will be lost automatically.

NOTE: Examples of valid evidence are demos, in-game screenshots and server logs. Private logs from IRC, ICQ, etc. will not be considered to be evidence because they can easily be falsified. However SCREENSHOTS from IRC are considered to be valid proof about conversation, when timestamp, day, and users whois info are available.

NOTE: Any files used for evidence (demos, screenshots, etc...) must be uploaded and linked in the conflict. Sending files to admins directly is also possible, admins will upload all of the material on the conflict which they receive.

NOTE: If a demo is used as proof of cheating, you must immediately specify the exact moment(s) (down to the exact round, minute and second) where the cheating is proven or the conflict will be lost automatically and immediately. Admins will not look at entire demos, they simply don’t have the time for it.

The prize winners have to handle their own taxes according to the local legistlation. All prizes are paid by Electronic Arts Finland.
